ART IN NATURE
Free Workshops at Moray Art Centre
FREE Art in Nature Workshops
6 week programme - 29 July - 2 September
Saturdays 2 - 5
Moray Art Centre in partnership with Wild Things, Moray Wellbeing Hub, and artist, Iona Leishman have created a workshop programme to promote calm and boost people’s mental health.
Spending time in nature and turning our minds to creativity can help us feel more positive.
No art experience necessary – just turn up and give it a go!
You may be experiencing post-lockdown nerves, dealing with long term mental health issues or feeling anxious – come with us into the woodlands and dunes around Moray Art Centre in Findhorn to engage with nature and see those creative juices flow.
Wild Things will set the scene to help us appreciate the creatures, habitats, sights and smells of this beautiful environment. Artist Iona Leishman will then help us create joint or individual pieces using found objects and arts materials based on our experience of the outdoors. All abilities welcome from absolute beginners to seasoned artists.
The Art in Nature Workshop is a 6 week programme and those joining us will receive the most benefit by coming to each workshop in the 6 week period. However, if you are interested but cannot commit to every workshop please still drop us a line and we may be able to fit you in!
For further details and/or to register your place just email nature@morayartcentre.org.
We hope to roll out workshops for all ages in the future but this programme is for those 18 years old and above.
With HUGE thanks to the Foundation Scotland Small Grants Scheme for making this possible!
Please contact nature@morayartcentre.org for more information.
Meet our Art in Nature Workshop Facilitator, Deborah!
For her second year, Deborah will be there to greet you all,
and make sure things run smoothly
Here's a little bit about Deborah.
Deborah is a freelance art and nature facilitator who
loves the outdoors and is passionate about using art
in a fun and positive way, to deepen our connection
with the natural world.
She is at her happiest when exploring the beach or
woods with her family and Cocker Spaniel Glen and
loves spending time in the garden. Her favourite things
are blue sky, white sandy beaches and flowers.
An avid photographer, Deborah always has her camera
to hand, researching new opportunities for art projects.
